Hardcore rap for insomniacs

Shake Junt

If 'Yonkers'-era Tyler, the Creator got locked in a jazz club with a sampler, you’d get something close to this opener. Sabio Dub doesn’t waste time warming up. He kicks the door open and immediately starts barking lines like a guy who’s been waiting all day to shake up your night. The beat is full of dusty menace, thanks to Jazzy lion man, whose production sounds like it just climbed out of a basement with an attitude problem. It’s got tension, teeth, and a sense that maybe this song needs therapy—and that’s a compliment.

Confetti Cake

With a name like this, you’d expect something sugary, something sweet. Instead, you get Dub firing off nonstop bars like his Ableton™ free trial is about to run out. The beat is smooth and buttery, sure, but Sabio’s flow? That’s pure cardio. It’s less “celebration” and more “carnival of verbal assault.” You can practically hear him grinning through the gasps, juggling absurd punchlines, weird flexes, and enough internal rhyme to make a thesaurus sweat. If 'Shake Junt' was the wild one, “Confetti Cake” is the sneaky one that slides the knife in while it’s making you laugh.

Twenty (feat. Miskeen Haleem)

This is where the gloves come off and get lit on fire. The beat is stripped down, classic New York grime. Like something that would play during a subway fight at 2 am, imperfectly effortless. Sabio comes in hot, but it’s Miskeen Haleem who takes center-stage with a verse so raw you can practically smell the cigarette smoke through your headphones. It’s the kind of feature that makes you double-check the credits, then immediately look up the artist to make sure they’re not about to drop a diss track on you personally. The beat may loop, but the verses don’t! Every line lands, every punch hits, and no one’s phoning it in.

Final Word:

Jazzy Dub is an unfiltered, and unapologetically weird EP. It’s not here to trend.  It’s here to talk its shit over jazz loops and make you feel it. Sabio Dub spits like he’s got a chip on his shoulder and a master’s degree in chaos, with Jazzy lion man setting the stage like a bartender who also sells cursed records. Miskeen Haleem’s guest spot on “Twenty” just cements this as a project that doesn’t need your approval; it already knows it’s good.

Verdict: Like if Adult Swim produced your boyfriend’s mixtape. Quirky but unskippable.

FreeThe is excited to put out this 3 song EP with a longstanding collaborator. Sabio Dub continues to prove he is someone to pay attention to. Between constant drops he does on his own, and various partnerships and collabs, his impressive discography continues to grow, all while pushing artistic corners both as a producer and emcee. With sticking to the mic on this record, he was able to focus exclusively on the lyrics. We have another chance to hear how he works over a peer's beats. Jazzy lion man provides a perfect tapestry for Dub's delivery. These songs are complete and cohesive, all while still getting you to bump.

Please enjoy Jazzy Dub - Out now!
